So, it is absolute chaos at our house. It feels that way at least. I went home after work yesterday and we didn't have any water. All of the kitchen and downstairs bath fixtures have been removed. The floor on the eastern half of the kitchen is completely gone.

I talked to Kevin and he said he was going to come over in about 20 minutes. So, I go out on the deck to smoke a cigarette. I was in the process of getting all the cigarettes to dump in the fire when I saw it.

But first, let me rewind. The pile of junk has been fueling a fire in our pit which has outgrown the fire pit itself. It had been burning since around 4 pm on Monday. It was Tuesday around 7 or 8.

So, I'm standing there with the butt bin in my hand, Mike and his friend Scott were sitting on the deck also. A fire truck was rolling down the street with its lights on. Mike kept saying, that's not for us, that's not a fire truck... It was clearly for us. Mike started walking towards the fence, where they had stopped. He yelled to run in and get hot dogs. I did. It kinda made sense while I was doing it, but when I got back outside with this giant bag of hot dogs, Scott said, We're gonna put the fire out with hot dogs?

I was cracking up about that. So, the firemen said that they couldn't leave until the fire was out. We didn't have fire, so once again, I was running to the shed for a shovel. I had to jump over debris that included the mermaid from the downstairs bathroom. Got the shovel, got back around to the other side of the house, and a fireman had jumped over the fence and was getting ready to hose down the fire.

Anyways, it was random and funny. So they hosed off our fire and left us with a giant mushy pile of ash. Kevin just missed the excitement, and then I drove with him to Publix to get some cash.

We came back to SP, smoked, chilled and then sat outside. Our workers finally sealed off the pipes and the shower was occupied almost immediately. lol.

We kind of laughed at how terrible our deck looks. Yesterday the washer and drier were moved to the deck, which just adds to the white trash feel we have going on. It's really stressful though, for all of us. I've been trying to organize things, and move things that should've been moved last week but weren't... I've been eating out, or not eating at all. It's definitely an experience. Not to mention we have 8 people staying in our house right now... 8 men. 1 bathroom. Not much more I can say about that.

We're getting a dumpster today, thank god. If it's there after I get home from work I will load up some of the stuff.

Anyways, it's definitely an experience. But it will be really nice once it's done, and we're all gonna enjoy the final product. At the same time, we're all slowly getting more stressed about it.

Today is day 3. The demolition has gone really well. These guys have worked literally from 7AM into the evening. They are making really quick progress, which has got to be a good sign, right. :) OK, anyways, I'm out. Check it out on http://swayingpalms.net.

Oh, I just remembered a dream I was having just before I woke up this morning. I dreamt that I was with Matt, holding him, and I was telling him how much I had missed him. Then I woke up, realized I was late and had to rush to get ready for work... sigh...
