So, on Wednesday evening, after a very busy day at work, I ran a couple errands and then picked up Shane. We went to Wal*Mart to buy food for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone else had the same damn idea though... It was a mad house. We managed to make it out with our lives, though I was run into by some guy's cart.
Shane and I came back to the house and started going through the 10 or so bags of clothes in the living room. We lit a fire in the fireplace and brought a stereo into the living room. We sorted all the clothes, finally, after several hours.
We started making some food for Thanksgiving. I was making desert items, and Shane was making deviled eggs. I had talked to my friend Kevin earlier, while I was at Wal*Mart, actually. So he said he might stop by later, or go out with us. Instead, he just shows up. I'm in the middle of making food, I was still in my work clothes, hadn't eaten anything yet... So I wasn't exactly ready for company when I heard the knock on the door. Typical Kevin... He also was a little more spaced out than I remembered. Like, he didn't remember people that I was talking about, that I KNOW he knows... lol, and oh yeah, said he is going back to school to become a lawyer...
Anyways, so, I then finished making my pie, made food and ate it in front of him... Then we hung out for a while on the porch. Walter was gonna have me come pick him up after he got home from seeing a movie. So, since Kevin was there, and Shane and I didn't have to work, we decided to go to the Male Room. Cengiz was gonna meet us there after he got off of work. I tried calling Jiganesh to see what he was doing, but couldn't get a hold of him.
So we were hanging out at the Male Room watching the talent competition... Which is always interesting. OK, I'm lying...
Walter met us there and we hung out for a while. So, this guy with an accent kept following me around and asking me about Kevin, like, giving me little notes to give to Kevin (which I turned right around and gave to Kevin while the guy was still standing there), and asking me about Kevin. So, this was kind of getting on my nerves. Cengiz was pretty much hanging on Kevin also, which also kind of annoyed me. Then, this guy with the accent came into the bathroom while I was peeing, and leaned over to talk in my ear. Still asking me about Kevin. So I was like, go talk to him, do you want me to tell him to talk to you? He was like, No, I'm shy... as he is standing in the urinal stall with me.
So, that pretty much did it for me. I was like, let's go. No one else was drinking, except for Kevin and Cengiz. So once I said let's go, I left. Waited for a couple minutes in the car for Kevin, then left without him. Got to Walt's house, which is down the street, so Walt could pick up some stuff before heading to St. Pete.
So anyways, while waiting for Walter, Kevin calls me on Cengiz's phone to see where I'm at. I told him I was down the street at Walt's, and that I'd come back by to pick him up if he wanted. He said he'd be fine getting a ride back with Cengiz. So Walt, Shane and I drove to my house. I made everyone drinks in my fabulous new tumblers. Cengiz and Kevin arrived much later... hmmm... lol
We hung out and drank for a while. Shane broke one of my brand new tumblers. I got a great picture of him holding his drink and flipping off the camera, literally seconds before the cup shattered all over the deck.
Cengiz and Kevin were both offered accomodations at Swaying Palms, but both insisted on driving home... So, I woke up on Thanksgiving at about 1 and immediately got in the shower. I knew I could not do any productive cooking without doing that first... Shane apparently woke up at the same time, went directly downstairs and put the ham in the oven.
I woke Walt up after I was done in the shower and offered him to take a shower, but he hadn't brought a change of clothes. We did find him a couple shirts from the piles in the living room though. So the entire day was spent listening to music, cooking, drinking wine, and then eating at about 5. The meal turned out really well. We were all entirely too full. But I guess that's what Thanksgiving is all about.
So, later on, I drove Walter home, and then came back to S.P. I got ready to go to Alibi, even though I was feeling like a stuffed pig. I figured everyone else there would be in the same position. Shane wasn't feeling well, but I somehow convinced him to come with me. I got there late, but still had a good time. We left kind of early, around 1. Jiganesh left at the same time and went to Circuit City to stand in line. He didn't get home until noon today. He got a great black friday deal on a computer, though he wasn't feeling too well when I spoke to him about our trip to Miami tomorrow. But anyways, Cengiz came over last night after we got back from Alibi and we hung out and drank some more.
Not doing too much today, just kind of relaxing, and getting some rest. We will be getting up around 5 tomorrow, to be on the road by 6 AM! Lord help us... ;)
